CENTCOM (SOCOM) -- The Operators of the Maritime Special
Operations Detachment - One, provide United States Marine Corps
elements in an elite, tier-one environment. Their ability to provide
top-qualified operators in delicate, maritime related engagements
is one of many traits that make MSOD-1 unique in their capacities.

MSOD-1 first activated on November 10, 1998, as the Marine Corps
contribution to the United States Special Operations Command. It
began operations shortly after activation, and were tasked with a
series of successful, classified Operations involving anti-terrorism.

While MSOD-1 is a new addition to tier-one operations, they prove
their worth in Task Force 9© as a primary candidate for anti-terror
operations, ship-boarding missions & high-risk hostage extractions.
Their primary role within Task Force 9© is to provide an elite group
of tier-one operators, specializing in all maritime warfare variants.
